Does this quilt not make you swoon! Let me start off by saying you can still go grab this pattern and join us this summer for this quilt along. Its going to be an event you do not want to miss. JOIN HERE
If you want more information on the quilt along check out our website. HERE This quilt along is designed for all quilters including beginners. I will have a tutorial for each week to help you! "You can do hard things when in a group"
I ended up choosing these fabrics because I had a fat quarter bundle from a Quilty Box just sitting around and I though hmmmm what would that look like. Turns out it looks freaking amazing!
- Prism - Drop Cloth - Dubbah (.5 yard)
- Prism - Aquastone (.75 yard)
- Prism - Celery (.75 yard)
- Prism - Splatter - Light Teal (1.25 yards)
- Prism Striped - Teal (.75 yard)
- Pure Solids - Snow (2.5 yards) (Background & sashing)
You grab these fabrics from Stash Fabric, My Favorite Quilt Shop, Hawthorne Supply Co., Etsy or just google "Prism by Giucy Giuce". There is not a whole lot out there but definitely enough for a few quilts!
If you have half the fun making this quilt as I did designing it and the quilt along you are in for one heck of a treat! This has been by far one of my all time favorite quilt experiences and I can not wait to share it with you!
This pattern is based around twelve shapes by six designers. It is a true skill builder with angled piecing, foundation paper piecing, and even some curves.
Below I am going to break down the blocks by weeks and let you know which fabrics I used for which colors. I did not stick with the same Fabrics A-E. I changed it up every block so hopefully this helps.
I hope you find these graphics helpful! I have created a PDF for you to print if you would like to follow my block design since these blogs always print funny! You can download that by clicking HERE.
The fabrics do a great job of contrasting print/texture wise with each other, yet blend so well on the colors! I am so happy with how dynamic this quilt has turned out!
I used a minky for the backing and ordered it from Spoonflower. It is called the Watercolor Mountains . It was definitely on the pricier side but since this will be used for my sweet son who is on the way I was willing to splurge.
Lastly I used the Malachite quilt design with Glide thread Cool Mint (65513) on top and Glide thread LimeRick (60389) in the bobbin.
Please share with me if you are joining in on this quilt along as well as tag me if you create this quilt I would love to see!
