Quilt Camp QAL Week 12 - Canoe Race
Have you ever worked with half hectors, parallelograms, and triangles before? Cause I sure hadn’t and it was a blast!
I do need to start off by saying my block looks a tad different than the finished pattern because of a template error but we got that fixed in the final pattern and the only difference we will have is a triangle on the end of row 2.
So onto the awesomeness of this block. It comes together so quickly it almost has a speed style assembly feel to it! Making for a relaxing part.
The most important part to pay close attention too is your 1/4” seam. The template have blunt corners which help you to line up the pieces. The key to making the pieces into straight rows is getting that 1/4” seam right on the inner corner of those blunt corners. That’s what will make the rows line up and have straight edges.
I can not wait to see all of your awesome blocks! I have a full YouTube tutorial down below so check that out for helpful tips. Until next week happy quilting!!!
