Quilt Camp QAL Week 3 - Summit
Howdy Campers! You are in for an adventure with this "Summit" block. Its so crisp and quite simple to make so let's get to making.
This block is made with simple strips and a quarter inch dog ear to guarantee a crisp meet up at the points! Bonus is its a quick make so reaching this summit shouldn't take long at all.
When cutting make sure to use your scraps from the last few blocks. I again keep my fabrics the same A-Canary, B-Summer Sun, C-Aero Blue, D-Grapefruit, E-Tender Green, and F-Snow. All of these solids are Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids line.
Focus on the quarter inch dog ear while piecing the two sides of the summit. The "quarter inch" is being measured from the edge of the strip towards the seam and not from the point in, as shown in the pattern. Totally pin here if your not super comfortable with this.
While piecing remember to iron the left side of the summit up and the right side of the summit down as shown in the image below. This will allow you to nest your seams when combining the two sides.
