Quilt Camp Week 11 - Lantern
This block is a fun one with a focus on half rectangle triangles. Did you even know that was a thing? I sure didn't. Camp is always the perfect place to learn all sorts of new things.
Thankfully Erin kills it with this pattern. The trickiest part is trimming the rectangles but its not too bad once you get the hang of it. Just make sure to keep your focus on the diagonal line and the 1/4" marking in regards to the width of the block. I show you exactly how to do this in the video tutorial below.
Also make sure to not cut into your 1/8" offset in the corners that is super important. My last tip is to pin at the end when you are assembling the block to make sure your diagonals line up. You didn't do all that hard work trimming up the block just to have wonky lines. LOL
