Woven Petals - Pure Solids
Do you want to know what the softest cotton fabric on earth is? Well, let me tell you its Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids! Their motto is "feel the difference" and let me tell you it is so true. They are all I want to work with they are so soft.
I have been wanting to buy from fabric stores that had a more local and not as corporate feel to them so I found Lamb and Loom. She carries primarily Pure Solids as her solid fabric choice so I went online and downloaded their JPEG fabric swatches you can find HERE. (Click "Download JPEG Swatches") Then I can play with infinite amount of color combos in Adobe Illustrator. Its like having a digital quilt coloring book. Whooo
I really wanted to play with neutrals plus I truly love how calming blues are so thats exactly what lead me to this color palette which includes
- Spruce 452
- Crystalline 496
- Macchiato 440
- Sandstone 432
- Denim Blue 465
Soon you will be able to buy this bundle straight from Lamb and Loom too!
It creates the most beautiful woven blues with a neutral curvy petal on top. I did not piece this quilt, but my tester did and she killed it! Go check out @squarts_and_ runningstitches
Once I got the quilt from my testers it was my turn to quilt this beauty. I had a hard time between just match stick quilting aka straight lines or curvy quilting. Regardless I knew I wanted an edge to edge to blend all of the solids together.
I ended up going with a clam shell I created with the Shelly Ruler! It was so much fun! Cool thing is this ruler can be used on a longarm or a domestic machine. You can grab one for yourself HERE. I will eventually create a full tutorial on this ruler for you. I love it. Definitely a must have quilting ruler. Sooooo many options and designs can be created with this!
Anyway I'm pumped to share this quilt pattern with you. You can check out the pattern HERE.
